Picture yourself holding a lone lit candle on a cold, damp fall night.  Instinctively, you're hand cups around that flickering flame knowing that the slightest breeze could extinguish it, bringing darkness to your world again.  Suddenly you realize that your body needs more than just a candle to stay warm, so you start on the hunt to find more fuel to enlarge your single flame into a warming fire.   Finally, you find some kindling dry enough to accept your flame, and are able to get those few dry twigs to glow.

Now the breeze, you were once trying to keep from your candle, is something you seek...you want the gentle wind of increase to blow over your few glowing embers.  As you're gently fanning the sticks, a hardy flame busts out and warmth pours over you as you continue to slowly add more fuel to your fire.
